A team of obstetricians, gynaecologists, paediatricians, clinical geneticists and genetic specialists will provide post-test support.
Hiro Clinic NIPT is staffed by specialists from the Japanese Society of Obstetrics and Gynaecology and prenatal consulting paediatricians and clinical geneticists.
After the NIPT test, a consultation with a clinical geneticist, a specialist of the Japanese Society of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, a prenatal consulting paediatrician or an enrolled doctor is available for those who wish to do so.

Medical examination by a doctor
Requests to see a doctor are accepted after the NIPT test. The consultation can take place in person or remotely.

Information on medical centres where amniotic fluid can be tested
You can have an amniotic fluid test at a medical institution designated by the hospital. If you do not want your doctor to know when you have a definitive test, or if you do not know where to get an amniotic fluid test, you can have the test done at a medical institution designated by the hospital. If you go to one of our designated medical centres, you do not have to pay for the amniotic fluid test at the counter.

Amniotic fluid testing, like NIPT, is free of charge. Fees vary between testing facilities, but many set the price at JPY 100,000-200,000. In any case, it is expensive, so if you undergo the test after a positive NIPT result, the financial burden can be significant.
To ensure that you do not give up on having a definitive test because of the cost burden, Hiro Clinic NIPT offers amniotic fluid testing support organised by partner laboratories, which is a system of definitive diagnosis assistance.
The fee is JPY 3,000 (JPY 3,300 incl. tax).
By joining, examinees with a positive test result can receive a subsidy of up to maximum JPY 200,000, including tax, for the cost of an amniotic fluid test.
Payment of membership fees is only made once at the time of blood collection.
※There is no payment over the counter (except for various fees) at any of the hospital’s designated medical centres.
Our clinic has supported over 100 amniotic fluid tests to date. The average fee for the inspection is JPY 162,272. If you are in the Hiro Clinic NIPT amniotic fluid testing support, which subsidises up to maximum JPY 200,000, you will be fully supported.

The result reporting rate of the test at Hiro Clinic NIPT is 99.98%, which is a high rate of returning test results, but in rare cases, 0.02% of patients may receive a ‘not determinable’ result after two tests.
There are a wide range of factors that can lead to a non-verification result, but even if a non-verification result is obtained, Hiro Clinic NIPT has a full follow-up system in place.

※The following criteria are used to subsidise the cost of amniocentesis.
- If aneuploidy of chromosomes 1-22 or sex chromosomes (all chromosomes) is positive, assistance is provided for the G-band test and qf-PCR assay.
- If the whole autosomal whole-region partial deletion disease is positive, assistance is provided for G-band, qf-PCR and microarray methods.
- Subsidies are provided for cases where the Hiro Clinic NIPT (prenatal diagnosis) is still inconclusive after two tests.
