My children underwent prenatal diagnosis in the USA. In the USA, insurance covered the tests and it was easy to get the tests they wanted. In Japan, however, insurance does not cover the tests and only a limited number of tests are available at certified medical facilities. This difference is a significant burden for many pregnant women. I also feel that many people suffer from anxiety due to the limited testing and diagnostic options.
