Low-Dose Pills

Low-dose pills use the same hormones as medium-dose pills, but with a lower amount of estrogen. They are highly effective for contraception and can provide benefits from the first day of menstruation if taken from that day. These pills are also effective in reducing menstrual pain, addressing skin issues like acne, and preventing ovarian cancer, endometrial cancer, and endometriosis. Due to the lower hormone levels, they are considered to have a lower risk of side effects.

Medium-Dose Pills

Medium-dose pills use the same hormones as low-dose pills but with a higher amount of estrogen. They are used to adjust menstrual cycles and manage abnormal bleeding. The effects are typically observed about a week after starting the medication. However, due to the stronger ingredients, there is a higher risk of side effects, which may include abnormal bleeding, nausea, loss of appetite, rash, swelling, constipation, and diarrhea.

Morning-After Pill

The morning-after pill is an emergency contraceptive used to prevent pregnancy after sexual intercourse. This medication requires a prescription from a gynecologist, obtained after a medical examination. It is not covered by health insurance, so the cost must be borne entirely by the patient. It is crucial to take the pill within 72 hours of intercourse, so visiting a medical facility promptly is important.
