Important Warnings Regarding HIFU Treatment
HIFU (High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound) is an advanced medical device originally used for cancer treatment and is strictly regulated as a medical practice. At our clinic, Premium Therma (HIFU) treatments are performed by physicians, while Light HIFU (a mode that delivers heat to shallower layers of the skin compared to standard HIFU) is administered by qualified nurses under the supervision, management, and direction of a physician.
Medical HIFU treatments utilize high-output medical devices and are conducted exclusively under the strict supervision of a physician. This ensures maximum safety and efficacy of the treatment. Additionally, treatments comply fully with the Medical Practitioners’ Act and other relevant regulations.
Based on the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare announcement dated June 7, 2024, HIFU treatments conducted by non-licensed practitioners are deemed violations of the Medical Practitioners’ Act. HIFU treatments at non-medical facilities are not legal, and the risk of issues arising is high, leading to an increase in consultations with the National Consumer Affairs Center. At our clinic, we avoid these risks and provide safe and secure medical care.

What is Light HIFU?
Light HIFU is a treatment that quickly and continuously delivers HIFU to the superficial dermis, akin to a shower.
It is virtually painless and does not require anesthesia. It is effective for overall facial tightening, improving skin firmness and radiance, reducing fine lines, and minimizing pores, promoting beautiful bare skin. Immediate effects are noticeable, and further improvements continue as the skin remodels over time.
It is also effective as maintenance to enhance and prolong the effects of Premium Therma treatments. In such cases, it is recommended to perform the treatment once a month, starting one month after Premium Therma.
For first-time HIFU users, it serves as an accessible skin-lifting and beautifying treatment with minimal pain or downtime.
Unique Features of Hiro Clinic
Our clinic offers medical-grade HIFU treatments. Medical-grade HIFU devices inherently have higher output and can only be used under the supervision of a physician in a medical institution. We recommend undergoing HIFU treatments at a reliable medical institution.
Our trained medical professionals, knowledgeable in anatomy and device characteristics, ensure safe and responsible treatment.
Additionally, we provide customized care, adjusting the distribution of treatment areas according to individual concerns based on a physician’s diagnosis, offering a tailored treatment experience.
Even low-output devices designed for esthetic use have caused issues such as burns and nerve damage, leading to increased consultations with the National Consumer Affairs Center. As a result, esthetic salons are now advised not to perform HIFU treatments.
